Prep Camp Philosophy
By the end of the week we hope that the campers will not only learn about the physical part of the game and what the expectations are for our program, but also the mental strength that it takes to play for WHS. The camps main goal is to give each player insight about the importance of accountability and its role in creating athletic greatness.
Each player in our program has choices to make about how good they are going to be. How they choose to approach the three areas listed below will be the measure of their athletic greatness. We all can make significant statements about ourselves on both sides of the playing field. What statement are you going to make about yourself? What are you going to choose to be?

Self-Discipline
Some players make it because they have the self discipline to separate themselves from their peers even though self discipline is an extraordinarily uncomfortable state; it is not easy for ordinary people. Most players choose to stay comfortable. |
Competitive Fire
Some players make a name for themselves because their competitive fire lights up whenever they are challenged. Do you remember the day or the moment you decided you were always going to play to win? Some athletes never make that decision. |
Self-Belief
Some players will make a name for themselves because their self-belief keeps coming back, regardless of what happens to them; physically or mentally. |
